Our client is a major global aerospace product manufacturer. This leading organisation is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join them Educated to Degree level, CIPS qualified with proven knowledge of MRP/ERP you will be responsible for; the direct and indirect supply of materials into the site, annual material spend, meeting cost out targets and supplier relationships through the management of the Purchasing and Materials Planning Function.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
Manage current and future demand requirements with supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
Drive Lean supply methods to improve performance across all the functions – through implementation of methods, practices and techniques to ensure the most economical movement of materials throughout the supply chain.
Drive savings initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business objectives for sub-commodity portfolio. Manage cost out and supply chain rationalization activities across the supply chain to meet site and group targets.
Manage material cost and schedule impacts of proposed engineering changes in addition to taking necessary actions to ensure successful implementation and incorporation of approved engineering releases.
Develop and implement commodity strategies in line with Corporate, Divisional, Site, SRM and Mfg initiatives to improve supply chain efficiencies and reduce the total cost of supply chain management.
The ideal candidate will have:
Degree qualified in related discipline eg Production, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing
CIPS qualified
Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
