The Role
A Subcontracts Administrator is required to join an existing procurement team responsible for the management of subcontracted work under primarily facilities management orientated contracts supporting military and government clients in deployed locations. The position will be based at our clients Head Office in Surrey but may require travel abroad from time to time (including to secure military bases in Afghanistan and Iraq).
Under the general and sometimes direct supervision of Subcontracts Management, the successful applicant will be expected to perform the full range of procurement and administration activities associated with subcontracting work, including but not limited to qualifying suppliers, issuing requests for proposals, evaluating proposals, negotiating, drafting and issuing contracts, amendments and orders (using established templates), processing invoices and maintaining subcontract files in accordance with company procedures.
Candidate Profile
As a minimum the successful candidate will demonstrate a suitable blend of education and professional and personal competencies as outlined below:
• Already in possession of, studying for or willing to study for a professional qualification (e.g. MCIPS) and ideally degree qualified
• Procurement experience, preferably in a project environment
• Some experience of negotiating, drafting and managing contracts
• An understanding of commercial terms & conditions / law
• Commercially astute and results driven
• Good negotiation and influencing skills
• Personable with excellent communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to interact at all levels
• Flexibility with a proactive attitude and willingness to get the job done
• Ability to cope with a fast paced, tight deadline working environment
• Good general PC application skills and ideally experience with SAP or other major ERP system
