The overall objectives for this dynamic role to lead the property category teams within portfolio of responsibility, including senior managers and sourcing professionals, to deliver Procurement Services strategy. You will also support the category senior managers in formulating complex Category Strategies using Category Management tools, techniques and latest best practice to ensure implementation across the MPS. As a member of Procurement Services Senior Leadership Team, you will effectively contribute to wider Procurement Services issues and goals. You will also ensure effective governance and manage internal relationships with senior level stakeholders within the business and contribute to the formulation of UK policies and standards on procurement and Supply Chain Management. You will ensure that appropriate processes are in place for their team to manage the tender process in accordance with EU legislation..

Your accountabilities will involve delivering and communicating agreed category management strategies, championing Category Management tools and techniques. You will also be responsible across the category, for all 3rd party expenditure, service and relationships to deliver personal, departmental and business requirements and efficiencies. Creation, development, negotiation and implementation of innovative procurement strategies to deliver year on year cashable savings and efficiencies to the business are a pre-requisite.


You will have experience of senior strategic preferably public and private sector procurement experience with demonstrable track record of high value, high impact added value contribution within the construction/facilities management and estate related professional services market. Comprehensive knowledge of the Category Management and similar procurement techniques and Significant experience of complex, dynamic environments with high levels of ambiguity and impact/risk. You will also have in your background recent and extensive experience in a modern procurement environment within a large, complex commercially driven organisation. Finally you will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of UK Public Contract Regulations 2006 and the EU procurement directive.
